Their retort works around the clock, 24/7, crafting each batch with meticulous care. It takes a full three days for the process—from loading the wood and reaching the perfect temperature, to letting the retort work its magic and cool down.
Avoid using commercially produced charcoals that are treated with chemicals to make them easier to light. Self-igniting briquettes, for example, often contain accelerants like paraffin or petroleum-based products. While these additives can speed up ignition, they also tend to produce more smoke and can leave behind unpleasant flavours on your food. Instead, enjoy the purity and quality of Kent Charcoal — made with care, free from additives, and easy to light using our natural firelighters.

We now deliver from two depots — our original Sevenoaks yard and our new Hertford depot.
Delivery is free on orders over £30 within 15 miles of either depot (see specific delivery page for map & postcodes).
Lead times:
• Sevenoaks: typically delivered within 4 working days
• Hertford: delivered within 7 working days
You’ll receive a 1-hour delivery window by email (usually the day before), along with live tracking on the day. Please ensure your email address is correct and check your junk folder if you don’t see an update.
Delivery method:
• Sevenoaks deliveries are made using a tail-lift and bulk bags can only be moved on very flat, solid surfaces
• Hertford deliveries are made using our crane vehicle, offering a little more flexibility in placement
We’re unable to accept requests for specific days or times, as deliveries are grouped for efficiency. Collection is not available.

Returns Policy

You can email us with details of the problem, and we will arrange for the product to be returned. This allows us to trace the batch it came from and thoroughly investigate any quality control issues.
Returning Items
Due to the size and weight of our products, if a product we supplied is defective, damaged, or incorrectly delivered, we will arrange for its collection at no cost to you. This may involve replacing, refunding, or exchanging the item.
If you wish to return a product that was correctly supplied but did not meet your expectations, please be aware that, we will need to arrange for its collection, and we kindly ask that you cover the cost of the return.
Refund Payments
Once we have collected a returned product, we will process any appropriate refunds using the same payment method you used when placing your order.
