Local Barbecue Charcoal – 5 kg Bag
Discover exceptional-quality local barbecue charcoal, now sourced even closer to home — produced just the other side of Tunbridge Wells and within 20 miles of our Ide Hill yard.
Used by local restaurants and stocked in Kent farm shops, this is proper small-batch lumpwood charcoal made from mixed British hardwood using a traditional retort process. The result is clean-burning, natural charcoal with excellent heat output and reliable performance on any barbecue.
Importantly, producing charcoal in this way helps maintain and promote the traditional management of local woodland, supporting healthier forests, biodiversity, and sustainable use of Kent’s timber resources.
Unlike many commercially produced charcoals and self-lighting briquettes, this charcoal contains no chemical accelerants, paraffin or petroleum additives — just pure carbonised hardwood for better flavour and a cleaner cook.
And now even better value: each bag contains a full 5 kg of premium charcoal — about 30% better value per kilo than our previous 3 kg bags.

We now deliver from two sites — our original Sevenoaks depot and our new Hertford depot.
Delivery is free on orders over £50 within 15 miles of either depot (see delivery pages for specific map & postcodes).
Lead times:
• Sevenoaks: delivered within 4 working days
• Hertford: delivered within 4 working days
You’ll receive a 1-hour delivery window by email (usually the day before), along with live tracking on the day. Please ensure your email address is correct and check your junk folder if you don’t see an update.
Delivery method:
• Sevenoaks deliveries are made using a tail-lift with bulk bag movement limited once on the ground.
• Hertford deliveries are made using our crane vehicle, offering a little more flexibility in bulk bag placement.
We’re unable to accept requests for specific days or times, as deliveries are grouped for efficiency. Collection is not available.

You can email us with details of the problem, and we will arrange for the product to be returned. This allows us to trace the batch it came from and thoroughly investigate any quality control issues.
Returning Items
Due to the size and weight of our products, if a product we supplied is defective, damaged, or incorrectly delivered, we will arrange for its collection at no cost to you. This may involve replacing, refunding, or exchanging the item.
If you wish to return a product that was correctly supplied but did not meet your expectations, please be aware that, we will need to arrange for its collection, and we kindly ask that you cover the cost of the return.

Once we have collected a returned product, we will process any appropriate refunds using the same payment method you used when placing your order.
